People have been banned from entering a flat in Gloucester after reports of anti-social behaviour towards the local community. The property on Bedford Street has been closed by police, preventing anyone other than emergency services and members of Guinness Housing Partnership from entering the flat.
The three-month closure order was issued on Wednesday, July 23, to prevent further disturbances to local residents and the community. Gloucestershire Police said the closure was necessary to stop anti-social behaviour and disorder from occurring.
The force also said a number of warrants had been carried out in the area under the misuse of drugs act. The closure order prohibits entry to the flat, with penalties for anyone found breaching the terms.
The order, issued by Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on July 23, is in place until 11.59pm on October 22, 2025.
Sergeant McCartney from the City Neighbourhood Team said: “My thanks to the residents and the community for their patience whilst we worked in partnership, in particular with PC Bradley from SOLACE to secure this order. We will continue to work together, along with other key partners and stakeholders, such as the Guinness Housing Partnership to tackle any antisocial behaviour or criminality.
“You will have seen in recent updates we executed four warrants under the misuse of drugs act in this area and will not hesitate to seek authority from the courts to execute more. If anyone has any information on perpetrators (and/or locations) that are persistent on committing ASB or criminality, could they please report it through the appropriate channels or anonymously by calling crime stoppers on 0800 555 111”.
