A Gloucester woman has been handed an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI) in a bid to curtail her actions.
Charlotte Adams, aged 37 and from the city, was served with the order today (Friday 15 November) following a hearing at Cheltenham and Gloucester County Court this week.
It follows reports to police over the last few months that Adams had been acting aggressively towards members of the public around the city centre.
The case was brought against Adams by Gloucestershire Constabulary and Solace, a joint team of officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary and the local councils, including Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucester City Council.
The injunction prohibits Adams from:
- Engaging in conduct which causes or is capable of causing alarm or harassment or distress to any person within Gloucester;
- Using or threatening to use violence towards any person within Gloucester.
Adams risks arrest if she breaches the injunction which was granted on Wednesday (13 November) and runs until 13 November 2025.
PCSO Adam Stevens, from Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Adams is someone who frequents the city centre. Over the last three months there has been a sudden and dramatic increase in anti-social behaviour, violence and aggression committed by her.
“Many of these incidents are taking place within the centre of the city, including in locations such as Station Road, Russell Street, Southgate Street, Cross Keys Lane and Bruton Way.
“Despite attempts to help her, there has been no change in her behaviour which continues to have a negative impact on the local community.
“Officers will always look to engage and support vulnerable people in the first instance. However, when necessary, they will take enforcement action, such as Criminal Behaviour Orders and ASBIs.
“This injunction should give the community a respite from her behaviour and will hopefully act as a wake-up call to her to reassess her actions.”
Anyone witnessing Adams breach any conditions of her order, should report it to Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101.
